A person who can’t step outside and someone who can never stay—both struggle through life, trying to find their final peace.
Can you hear me?
Can’t sleep?
Mommy?
Can you forgive me?
Sleep, my baby. It’s alright now. Tomorrow will be a bright, sunny day.
Meticulously written by Wu Chi-Huang of Try Try Studio, and brought to life through four-channel electronic sound by director and sound designer Chang En-Wei,《Sleep,Baby》unfolds a world that is both absurd and hauntingly familiar.
Those who cannot stay are called “Mommy” by those who cannot leave. And so, the ones who cannot leave become “Baby.”
“Mommy” spends her days exhausted, rushing between work and life.
“Baby” waits behind a door that forms a kind of magical barrier — in a leaking house, between the bed and that door — for “Mommy” to return.
Together, they create a world of their own.
Until one day, “Mommy” becomes too worn out to keep on living as she used to…
