Pump it! Shih-lin is commissioned by Taipei Performing Arts Center
Enter a world of splendor and romance in which scenes of life throughout the last hundred years in Taipei come to life on stage. Dancers swing their way through time periods, while singers turn the theater into a vintage club—this musical of ballroom dancing is a feast for the eye and the ears.
As a gesture to embrace a broader audience, Pump it! Shihlin was first initiated by the artistic director Liu Ruo-Yu, during the official opening of the Taipei Performing Arts Center last year. Following its successful run, this year’s revival again invites ballroom dance choreographer Soler Yang and theater actor Lin Chia-Chi to join the dancers from i5dance in this invigorating spectacle of love.
Energetic, soothing, accessible, Pump it! Shihlin brings laughter and joy to people in post-pandemic times. This is the Center’s warmest welcome to the citizens to the art of dance.
