Rooftop Blossom
Staged at the rooftop garden of the Center with its impressive view, “Concert for Plants” is a series of four concerts for house plants and their owners. Rooftop Blossom opens this series with composer/accordionist Yenmeng Wang and the experimental electronic music duo KbN. Taking place in the magic hour at dusk, the concert invites plant and human participants to enjoy resonance across species boundaries.
Recent studies show that plant organisms perceive sound as a stimulus and translate it into cellular and metabolic changes. In this party for and with plants, individual human participants listen to the live concert through their noise-canceling headphones in the company of his/her plant(s), while the musicians are seen as silhouettes on drapes around the stage. At the same time, loud speakers in the garden emit frequencies that communicate with plants. Participants are welcome to walk about freely and immerse in the different layers of perception, with or without the headphone.
Expanding the frequencies of the accordion through the experimental electronic arrangement, the concert creates a space in which plants and people are in tune with each other.

Yenmeng Wang
Yenmeng Wang is a renowned accordionist from Taiwan. His compositions transcend established musical styles, showcasing delicate melodies and rich emotions. In recent years, he has delved into the realms of spirituality and the mysteries of the universe, incorporating electronic and ambient elements into his work, resulting in multi-layered musical textures. Wang has collaborated with numerous singers and musicians, including Cheer Chen and Summer Lei. He has also contributed to the soundtracks of various television shows and films, such as Yang Yachang's "Detective Story" and Cheng Xiaozhe's "Vague." His solo album, "the Wandering Accordion " was nominated for Best Pop Music Performance Album at the 15th Golden Melody Awards and received a nomination for Best Recording Package at the 47th Grammy Awards.
KbN
based in Taipei's East District, Taiwan, was founded in 1998 and specializes in producing electronic music. They have performed at various music festivals and exhibition venues across Taiwan. The current members of the group are CheeR and Jez F.
