Dissolving Boundaries: The Thoughts and Existence of Mathilde Monnier

Lecture/Talk/Seminar
2024-07-20 - 2024-07-20

As one of the most important contemporary choreographers in France, Mathilde Monnier's dance spans various fields. Her ten-year collaboration and dialogue with philosopher Jean-Luc Nancy has become one of her most significant experiences. How does dance seek meaning in movement and stillness, existence and nothingness? Why does she employ different types of dancers on stage? How does she reflect on human violence? And as a woman, how does she perceive the current social climate and express it through her work?
