One day, when actor Dad has a day off at home, after breakfast, his daughters seem a little bored. He comes up with an idea and tells them that their family actually has an heirloom, a treasure passed down through generations. All they need to do is find the treasure map and follow it to discover the treasure. Excited, the daughters start searching for the treasure map all around the house, but they can't find any trace of it. Instead, they come across an old box and a tape recorder. They press play on the recorder, and Grandma's voice starts playing. Grandma begins telling a legendary story that they have never heard before, about their mother becoming weak and frequently falling ill after giving birth to their younger sister. Dad and the older sister desperately wish for their mother to regain her smile.
They hear about a precious pearl deep in the distant sea, and if they can convince the sea nymph to lend them the pearl, its light will shine upon their mother and restore her health. Dad and the sister decide to embark on a journey, carrying their younger sister on their back. After a series of trials and challenges, the three of them finally obtain the pearl and board a ship to return home. As the ship rocks back and forth, they all fall asleep, succumbing to the motion of the waves.
"Wake up, it's time to eat!" Dad, the sister, and the younger sister wake up from the sofa, and Mom cheerfully brings out one delicious dish after another from the kitchen.
