2023 TCAF: 《Who Stole My Words?》

2023-07-28 - 2023-07-30

The story begins with a smart young boy Gao Bai-Sheng who always scores 100 at every subject. He is so proud of himself that he doesn’t want to befriend with the other classmates. Until one day, fairy Hui-Hui steals his words, having him make a fool of himself in front of the class. His mother is also very angry about his poor school performance. One day, Bai-Sheng catches this mischievous fairy and hands her to his mother as proof, but she thinks Bai-Sheng is only trying to make excuses. They have a big quarrel. In the course, Bai-Sheng’s mother is hit by magic accidentally, turned into a dumb mom who thinks she is a duck. Hui-Hui has no choice but to bring Bai-Sheng and his mother back to the fairyland...

Will they recover Bai-Sheng’s mother’s intelligence? Will Bai-Sheng reclaim his stolen words? Why would fairy Hui-Hui steal people’s words?

Who Stole My Words? was awarded the 2nd place of “Playwright Project for Kids and Above” at 2019 Taipei Children’s Arts Festival. Chang Yuan blended his traumatic schooling experience, as the result of his dysgraphia, with the imagination of a spiritual fairyland, and wrote a fantastic musical.
