The Kingdom of Black Shadow is a mysterious land filled with magic.
The kingdom's Magic Academy has a tradition that has been passed down for thousands of years.
Every hundred years, they hold the Super Century Magic Contest, where humans, elves, and beasts compete for glory.
By collecting three keys, one can awaken the all-powerful Sacred Fire and make a wish upon it.
Who will successfully become the champion and make a wish to the Sacred Fire?
In 2017, the Taipei Symphony Orchestra and the Punctum Creative collaborated to present the first shadow puppetry family musical.
It has been enjoyed by over ten thousand people to date. The second installment of the series, "The Secret of the Royal Curse," once again teams up with the Shadow Legend Theater Company.
Using shadow puppetry, light and shadow transformations, and the form of a musical, it embarks on a fantastical journey into the world of magic.
Taipei Symphony Orchestra
TSO Youth
With the orchestra playing a more complex role in this ever-changing multi-cultural city, Taipei Symphony Orchestra, an orchestra that has been established for 50 years, founded TSO Youth in October 2016. In order to create more diversities and to suit the needs of modern musical markets, TSO Youth combined members from TSO Wind Orchestra and TSO Chamber, along with some excellent young musicians in Taiwan to perform classic, pops, jazz, movie, and traditional music. It’s an orchestra that strives to enrich Taipei citizens’ cultural experience with.
Punctum Creative
It was founded in 2011 by Tien-Heng Kao and Soonyew Chong. Our core mission is making original Mandarin Musicals. Punctum Creative is dedicated to creating various types of musicals, including The Shadow Kingdom: Magical Travel with Grandma, The show must go on, The Letter, etc. In 2018, we organized City Musical Festival and invited other troupes in Taiwan to remake their classic musicals. By holding musical festivals, performing art lectures and children’s musical summer camps, we hope to promote our brand value and develop the musical culture in Taiwan.
