Two city-raised grandchildren are sent to their grandfather’s rural home—a place without internet and full of bugs…
Should they run away or stay?
This production reimagines ten of the most beloved classic Taiwanese children’s songs, merging them with picture books to weave a touching narrative about the bonds between urban and rural lifestyles and the deepening connections between the elderly and the young. Onstage, the atmosphere is charged with quaint, old-school rock, nostalgic corner store memories, and dancing insects, all capturing the diverse facets of life.
Presented by the Ministry of Culture, this cherished Taiwanese-Hokkien musical returns by popular demand. In addition to promoting the native language, the show also incorporates fresh elements, bringing the full vitality of original art and the emotional pull of music to today’s children (and all who are young at heart)!
