The Mouse Kingdom’s princess is seeking a suitor, but the ceremony is disrupted by an old cat, nearly causing her harm. The Mouse King decides to seek a political alliance and sends his warrior, A-qiang, to find the bravest warrior on the land. After much difficulty, they find the Sun, but it is besieged by clouds, rain, and ice, causing it to lose its radiance. A fierce wind scatters the battlefield but collides with the city wall, fleeing in pain. The City God appears and tells A-qiang, “Digging the wall every day gives me sore feet. Mice are the bravest in the world!” Inspired by this, A-qiang devises a plan by pretending the Mouse King is marrying off his daughter, and arranges a trap to defeat the old cat. The Mouse King is overjoyed and appoints A-qiang as his son-in-law. From then on, on the third day of the lunar new year, everyone has to go to bed early to avoid disturbing the mouse’s wedding.
