The Department of Dance at National Taiwan University of Sport, the only public university dance department in central and southern Taiwan, is distinguished by its unique integration of rich local folk traditions with contemporary aesthetic trends in performance and creation. Its faculty team covers modern dance, ballet, Chinese dance, choreography, pedagogy, and theater practice, and all bring extensive professional and academic experience from both Taiwan and abroad, providing students with a diverse and comprehensive learning environment. At the undergraduate level, the program is divided into three tracks: Dance Education, Dance Performance, and Dance Applications, while the master’s program offers two fields of study: Academic Theory and Performance/Creation. The department is committed to cultivating students with both artistic literacy and professional versatility, combining academic knowledge, creative practice, and career development. Courses emphasize interdisciplinary integration, blending artistic creation, education, administration, and cultural industries, and encourage students to deepen their expertise while connecting theory to practice.
