Leu Wijee is an Indonesian dancer and choreographer based in both Palu and Jakarta. He experiments with body, materials and spaces, and uses choreography to switch on everything. His movement approach tends to be minimalist and relentless. In his artistic practice as a choreographer, explores and transmits personal and other traces, as well his personal ideas and curiosity into a way of thinking and producing ‘something’. “Although choreography is my prime medium, I see that anything which is moving, resonates with my practice”.
His works include The Museum Museum I: Waves, Museum II: Ridden, and New Onigiri reflects the potential relationship between disaster and dance. He has participated in various performances, such as Taitung Fringe Festival, Taitung (2023); Asia Discovers Asia Meeting for Contemporary Performance / ADAM’s Kitchen 2023, Taipei (2023); Indonesian Dance Festival, Jakarta (2022); Sync Next, Seoul, South Korea (2022); Stre@m - An Asian Dance Digital Platform, Seoul and Singapore (2022-2023) Tokyo Festival, Farm-Lab Exhibition, Tokyo, Japan (2021); Helatari Salihara, Jakarta (2021).
