Yu Tai-Jung is an independent dramaturg, translator and author in the performing arts field. Before graduating from the MA program in Contemporary Theatre, Dance and Dramaturgy at Utrecht University in 2023, he was the curatorial assistant of the Taiwan Traditional Theatre Festival. As the former international affairs manager and resident dramaturg of Formosa Circus Art, Yu represented the company in the Circus Asia Network. He (co-)curated and organized the 2018 Taiwan Contemporary Circus Forum and the 2019 Taiwan International Contemporary Circus Forum at the National Kaohsiung Centre for the Arts - Weiwuying. He also served as the Deputy Director of the IATC Taiwan branch from 2020 to 2024.
Due to his experience in various kinds of training in the early years, Yu can ingeniously navigate through different forms of practice and combine the aesthetics of one genre with another. This has allowed him to step into dramaturgical positions in projects of diverse forms and scopes. Yu has worked with artists including, among others, Wang Chia-Ming, Lee Ming-Cheng and Lee Tsung-Hsaun. He was the facilitator for the Artist Residency in Weiwuying Circus Platform from 2019 to 2021 and as the festival consultant of the 2024 Contemporary Circus Festival Mo in Macau.
