★ A shared experience for deaf / hard-of-hearing / hearing participants
★ A creative exploration of body × objects × light & shadows
We believe that the theater should be a space where everyone can explore, experience, and enjoy. Inclusion is the foundation of respect, where every individual’s talents, beliefs, and way of life deserve to be recognized and celebrated.
In this workshop, the performing arts are not confined to sound—they come to life through movement, the play of light and shadow, and the boundless power of imagination. We invite every audience member to engage with art in their own way, whether through sign language interpretation, live audio descriptions, or purely through visual and sensory perception. This is your theater experience.
This time, we want to introduce you to performing arts in the most intuitive and natural way possible—move your body, explore the space, play with shadows, touch different objects, and see what kind of stories you can create.
Taipei Performing Arts Center warmly invites people curious about theater to take the first step in discovering its diversity and inclusivity. Finding My Shadow: An Inclusive Movement Workshop aims to bridge communities and encourage active participation, ensuring that everyone can find their own artistic expression. Throughout the workshop, we will adjust communication methods to create an inclusive environment, allowing all participants to experience new possibilities.
Co-led by both Deaf and hearing instructors with sign language interpretation, the workshop will guide participants through sensory exploration and physical exercises to discover different forms of artistic expression.
In this session, one can experience balloon exercises, learn rhythm and movement visually, and combine light / shadow / objects to create an interactive performance, where your body and imagination weave together a unique story.
This workshop is more than just a session—it is an open invitation. Together, let’s explore, feel, and step into the theater, where you can find your own way of storytelling in the world of performing arts.
