William Forsythe, Improvisation Technologies
ZKM Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe, Deutsches Tanzarchiv Köln|
Germany|1999|116 mins|G, suitable for all audiences.
The CD-ROM William Forsythe, Improvisation Technologies, released in 1999, was designed as a pedagogical tool for choreographers. It was paradigmatic of the use of the technology of that time to communicate principles of choreography and dance and was widely circulated in the dance community. Since its publication, the computer systems needed to view this CD-ROM have become obsolete and optical disc drives have vanished from consumer hardware.
Using the menu, different parts of this CD-ROM can be viewed. Documentation was produced by Johannes Goebel, as part of the Digital Time Capsule project implemented by EMPAC at Rensselaer.
