What is the sweetest thing in life? Maybe it’s dealing with everything that happens in our lives with our beloved family. It’s not just unilateral giving but a journey of growing up together while guiding each other. Since Feifei was two, she has been watching her daddy performing from the side stage. The stage in the light is not an alien world but a place where she can safely stay. Later they began to turn playing into performing and therefore, Daddy’s stage has become the biggest playground for them, which sent father and daughter on an unexpected creative journey together.
A family circus performance, Mr. Yeh & Feifei shares the real experiences in family, company, and growing up. On the stage, father and daughter perform stunts while playing and laughing with each other and face every unexpected situation together. Sometimes, things go wrong, but Daddy always catches Feifei just like when she meets a setback in life. It prompts us to re-imagine the way we treat our family, and it could be so different. Who says only parents can participate in their children’s childhood? As children grow up, they change their parents’ lives too. Daddy is always the steadiest mountain in the family, but even this big mountain keeps changing, learning and growing up with children.
Mr. Yeh and Feifei co-star in this production, demonstrating the warm and real rapport between father and daughter. Combining acrobatic circus skills with the scenery of Taiwan, Mr. Yeh & Feifei Subtitle shows the moving memories of family. It also shows that children do not just receive care from their parents but become an important part of their parents’ lives. Growing up together is something very brave and happy. In Mr. Yeh & Feifei Subtitle, “creation” and “raising children” are no longer two things parallel with each other but a sincere, tender and yet powerful performance of life, in which the two meet and weave into each other on the stage.
Mr. YES Clown Troupe
Founded in 2013, Mr. YES Clown Troupe has become a large circus troupe that offers surprises throughout each performance that integrates clowning with highly skilled acrobatic circus. Later the troupe shifted its focus to parenting and connecting “family” to “circus.” From acrobatic circus to parenting and early cognitive development, the works of Mr. YES Clown Troupe continue to evolve as they keep questioning themselves.
