On his way home, Noah is riding the bus that gently sways. He keeps his eyes half open and just before he dozes off, he catches sight of a girl who looks familiar to him. To his surprise, when he follows the girl off the bus, the street turns into a magic green tunnel. In this fantasy world, they could go anywhere they want. One moment they are standing on the top of a tall building, looking down at the city and the next they are walking on a white beach, feeling the warmth underneath their feet. Some places exist only in their memories, and every step forward feels like opening a new story book, in which every scene is filled with surprises. Nonetheless, on this adventure, something keeps bothering Noah since he feels as if he forgot something. Only when he comes to a park does he remember what happened in this place a long time ago.
In everyone’s heart hide some precious things, and memories may be one of them. When we think of certain things, some inexplicable courage surges through us, giving us the strength to carry on. Do you have any precious memories? Or maybe you forgot them and left them somewhere? Kitty Adventure Squad welcomes adults and children to come into the theatre to unveil the memories concealed by time and to retrieve the fragments of our lives that are important but got lost by accident.
Kitty Adventure Squad is a fantasy bel canto musical presented by C.C. Opera Lab. Through theatre, live music, and rich imagination, it leads the audiences to embark on a journey of memory, company, and growing up. During the performance, the pianist plays the music that combines popular and classical styles, allowing the story to flow sometimes briskly and sometimes softly with the music while both adults and children are invited to listen to it and to feel the warmth of memories depicted by the music.
 
C.C. Opera Lab
C.C. Opera Lab was founded by the theatre writer and director Deja Chang and the music arranger and composer Chao Chi-En in 2020. Starting with opera in Chinese, they explore the possibility of connecting music with theatre. With “experiment” as their core spirit, they try to be free from the existing performing styles and turn music from a supporting role into the leading role that leads the narrative of stories. Via live music performance and the cross-style music language, their productions inspire the audiences to re-experience the magic power of feelings, imagination, and stories.
