★ Brilliant segments of the signature production “The Inverted Series – Swan Lake”
★ To feel the soft power of ballet
★ The first ballet performance parents and children enjoy together
Once upon a time, there was a quiet lake. When the princess, who was turned into a swan by a magic spell, met the prince, a love story that would be told repeatedly for centuries began. The Inverted Series – Swan Lake is the signature work of Taipei Capital Ballet, in which the popular fairy tale, Swan Lake, is deconstructed and reconstructed, allowing the audience, who have never been to a ballet performance, to feel the power and beauty of ballet in a familiar story structure.
Specifically designed for family by Taipei Capital Ballet, The Pink Princess and Her Magic Ballet Shoes is a selection of segments of ballet pieces in distinctive styles and clear rhythms. Amid the classical music that everyone is familiar with, the production leads children to feel the body movement and the emotions of the dance in a natural rhythm. Through the combination of story, music, and dance, the performance transforms the elegant ballet body language into a stage experience that children can understand and feel, drawing children into the fantastic world of ballet. Interaction is blended into the performance as the audience are invited to observe with their eyes and to feel with their bodies or even let their imagination take part in it, allowing dance to be not only something to watch but an adventure full of joy, laughter, and imagination.
For many years, Taipei Capital Ballet has continued to explore between the classic and the modern and been dedicated to keeping ballet growing and flourishing in different generations. The Pink Princess and Her Magic Ballet Shoes includes the company’s signature works, especially the segments of the hugely popular The Inverted Series – Swan Lake, making it not only a great first ballet experience for children but a joyful time for family. Through the deft steps and soft music, children can learn to observe and feel beauty and adults can retrieve the precious feeling of being moved by art amid the light and shadow. When ballet appears in a form so close to daily life, art becomes the magic shoes that accompany everyone when they grow up.
