2026 TCAF: Outdoor Performance-Big Hand Holding Little Hand

Big Hand signifies protection and guidance and Little Hand curiosity and imagination. When the singing begins and the familiar melodies flow out of our mouths, the lyrics buried deep in our memories quietly emerge. Both adults and children are invited to join this heartwarming and joyful choir!
The program begins with the folk songs that Big Hand is the most familiar with, including Ah-mei, Ah-mei, Let’s Go See the Clouds, Silk Cotton Avenue, and The Rainy Scene; one song after another, they wake up the adults’ memories of their youth as they hold their children’s hands, humming softly, sharing their stories of the past, and strolling amid the sun, the white clouds, and the breeze. Then, the Moon Suite composed of I Love the Moon and Long for It, Xiang Wang, Moon Fascination, Bird Sweet, and Who Is Winking, comes on, inviting the adults and children to raise their heads to see the moon, allowing their imagination to roam in the night sky and fly towards the unknown faraway place in the singing.
Next come the familiar melodies such as Stroll from My Neighbor Totoro, Baby Shark, Chiikawa, and One Little Umbrella that call attention to children… both adults and children can happily sing together and swing their bodies to the rhythm!
Planned by the celebrated Taipei Male Singers that have toured around the world, a selection of classic songs with which both adults and children are familiar is beautifully sung by the ensemble, encouraging adults and children to hold their hands while singing together. A concert is not just a place where you listen to music; it is a venue where you can sing, hum and sway freely and merrily. Amid the familiar melodies, this event prompts the adults to hold hands with their old selves once accompanied by music and with their children while writing down this beautiful and joyful memory of summer together!
