In a world where a long-standing standoff divides a mighty technological empire and an ancient magical kingdom, two young royals are forced to live as hostages in each other’s lands — raised not for themselves, but for peace, imprisoned in the name of freedom.
Lissia — the princess of the technological empire, yearning to break free from the chains of fate — begins her journey back home after the death of Prince Eddie, the boy whose destiny was intertwined with her own.
And Eddie — a magic-born youth caught in the mire of self-doubt and steadily losing his grip on the meaning of life — ultimately chooses death on the eve of his eighteenth birthday, rejecting a life scripted by others.
Years later, at the edge of the world, a blacksmith named Siran lives in quiet exile on the snowy frontier. There, he meets Susan, a young girl with a mysterious past. In each other, they find a shared longing for freedom, and together they begin to question a dream left unfinished:
— Was the ideal they once vowed to uphold still worth believing in? Or is the quiet safety of an ordinary life the true salvation they’ve been searching for?
Death, memory, ideals, and sacrifice weave together the threads of fate, as they strive to forge a pair of “Wings of Steel” — symbols of escape and flight, and perhaps their final hope of reaching each other… and their true selves.
