2022TCAF:KingKongWave Production Farewell, farewell.

“Saying goodbye” is something we were taught before we could even speak. Wave your hand, and give a kiss, as we all know we will see each other again. But what if this is the last time? How will you say goodbye?

Upon turning 13, the boy put on the cloak that belonged to his father, whom he had never met. He embarked on a journey of learning how to say goodbye. Along the way, he met the kind grocery grandma, a clever, mischievous girl, and an elderly dog that taught him many things. They are all trial tasks. Will the boy be able to pass all tests of “saying goodbye?”

Zhang Yu-Fen’s Farewell, Farewell won the second place of the 2020 edition of Children’s Theatre Book of Taipei Children’s Arts’Festival. Partnering with Hung Chien-Han, Director from KingKongWave Production, they create an experience tailored for parents and children alike, and invite both children and adults to “walk” into the theatre, and join them in this journey of saying goodbyes.

KingKongWave Production’s core values are not limited to the idea of an “individual” or a “specific style.” It looks for different formats of “liveness” and “theatricality.” The company produces many co-created, interdisciplinary, immersive, interactive theatre pieces. The drastically different styles of the four directors create a brand new look for brands and participatory theatre. In doing so, they hope to cooperate with different platforms and enterprises, and bring forth new challenges and innovations.

Sun Wei-Chen

Majored in directing, Sun graduated from School of Theatre Arts, National Taipei University of the Arts. She had often assumed the role of a stage manager, and at the same time is equipped with the skill set of a director and a playwright. She is now a core member of KingKongWave Production. Her recent works include Re-chao 99 from Young Stars New Vision 2017, Reanimated from Feast of Space, and Reanimation – The Great Gatsby in 2018. Reanimation was selected by the 16th edition of Taishin Arts Awards. Recently, she had collaborated with Co-coism, Surprise Lab., Yang’s Ensemble, Dark Performance Lab, Horse, and Childbirth.birth.




原著劇本｜狗比
狗比，本名「張玉芬」，學生時代活躍於小劇場，台大國企所畢業後，選擇離開商界投入劇場工作。2005年成立『鬼娃株式會社劇團』，2018年改名『原創屋』，至今一共推出多達14部原創舞台劇作品，完成261場的公開展演，目前擔任原創屋的團長，也是全團唯一校長兼撞鐘的專職員工。狗比非戲劇科班出身，選擇用自己的方式，堅持在藝文界走自己的路。另外，2020年起也開始以筆名「大俠」進行兒童文學的創作，曾獲苗栗夢花文學獎、拍台北電影劇本獎、臺北兒童戲劇劇本獎、2012新北市動漫畫長篇劇本獎。
