2022TCAF:Yinalang.Group 《Can can do it》

"Bang! Ding-dong! Thud! What are the objects that make different sounds at this mysterious lab? Stacking and patching, rolling and clashing, is someone moving something and about to make a scene?

Can can do  it is one of the selected pieces of the Developing Scripts for Children’s Theatre Program of the 2020 Taipei Children’s Arts’ Festival. With the concept of “What an object, Can/can do” as its starting point, the play focuses on items that are homophonous with “can,” composing one after another allegories, displaying the versatile flexibility of object theatre and leading us into a fantastical journey of objects.

"Yinalang.Group

Yinalang.Group was founded by stage designer Lo Wan-Yu, producer Wang Shih-Chi and actor Liu Hsiang in 2017. Yinalang means children in Taiwaness, which represents our goal of being creative like children, unleashing our imagination in playing with all types of puppets, and always exploring daily life with curiosity. "

"Lin Xiao-Han

Lin graduated from Department of Theatre Arts, National Sun Yet-san University. She was a member in residency at Tainaner Ensemble, and is now a member of Molusiaohua. In addition to concentrating on her acting career, Lin is also engaged in playwriting, directing and teaching. In recent years, she has started exploring puppetry and object theatre to expand the scope of her performing career.

From 2014 to 2020, she worked with Trend Education Foundation and developed green-themed theatre productions adapted from Taiwanese literature. She created quality parent-child theatre time and encouraged the audience to live peacefully with their inner child. Lin expects herself to be able to hear the sounds made from the limbo inside where no words can reach. She shares with people her creations and visits the stories happened on the land. She wants to explores the clues hidden in everyday life and in turn recognizes the possibility of each object so as to tell and listen to the stories honestly and carefully.

Wang Shi-Chi

Wang obtained her master from the Graduate Institutes of Theatre Arts and Playwriting. She has participated in various theatre productions, including collaborations with Dark Eyes Performance Lab, Studio M, Childbirth.birth, Taipei Fringe Festival, Flying Group Theatre, Against Again Troupe and more.

Wang enjoys working on non-theatre artistic creation She organized The Moving City for the 5th Against-Again Apartment Showcase, gathering five teams of artists to perform at apartments, in districts and by seaside. She also presented Walking the Market at Nanmen Market, and launched Biological Formula, her piece for Taiwan Woman Theatre Festival, at National Theatre and Concert Hall. She is also a playwright, and was awarded Grand Prize of New Taipei City Literary Award.

Luo Wan-Yu

Luo graduated from Department of Performing Arts, Shu Te University, now concentrating on the theatre sector, artistic object creation and puppetry performance. While discovering the quality of each objects through shapes, colors and dynamism, Luo takes a step further to develop graphic paintings, miniature landscaping and theatre productions.

Feature productions include New New at National Taichung Theater and The Furnace, a kind of object theatre having been toured in Taiwan’s six cities. As a stage designer and stage manager, Luo has also collaborated with Taipei Culture Foundation, Taiwan International Festival of Arts, Guling Street Avant-garde Theatre, Together Design Art, One Player Short Ensemble, Her Lab Space, Body Phase Studio, Oz Theatre Company, Against Again Troupe and many other troupes.
