In the aftermath of the 2018 Puyuma train disaster, choreographer Chuang Kuo-Hsin faced PTSD. Drawing strength from the Amis tribe’s Mihaay—a ritual to honor the dead—he transforms personal trauma into a powerful dance of remembrance. Merging indigenous chants with contemporary movement, this piece is both a journey of healing and a tribute to those lost and those who lived.

How Long Has It Been Since Our Voices Last Harmonized 2.0
In Amis culture, "where there is song, there is dance." Every song carries distinct movement and cultural meaning. The title of the word reflects both the phonetic uniqueness of the Amis language and the emotional resonance of the body guided by song. This work explores the tension between tradition and the shifting influences of modern society.
