About the Performance
The Moonlight Zoo Concert invites audiences into a luminous, nocturnal world envisioned by pianist and composer Yu-Chi Kung (Agong). Drawing on memories, companionship, and the lingering warmth of his beloved pets, Agong shapes a musical journey that moves through moonlight, galaxies, and the stillness of night.
Here, shifting ensembles—a solitary piano voice, the intimate timbre of viola, and the vibrant resonance of piano interwoven with chamber orchestra—flow together like changing constellations. Across twenty works and surprise selections, these textures open the soundscape of the Moonlight Zoo, a place where melodies drift like light, and listeners may find themselves soaring gently through the quiet currents of longing.
Visual storytelling, delicate lighting, and over twenty animal motifs transform the stage into an immersive “sound theatre,” where imagination and memory intertwine. With expanded staging and narrative design, The Moonlight Zoo Concert arrives in Taipei to offer an intimate yet cinematic listening experience.
