About the Performance
Swan Lake, one of the most iconic works by Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, is widely regarded as the pinnacle of classical ballet. Since the 19th century, it has set the standard for ballet music and dramatic structure. The dual roles of the White Swan and Black Swan, along with the famous 32 fouetté turns, have become defining tests of a principal dancer’s virtuosity. Presented by the Kyiv Ballet, this production preserves the spirit of classical ballet while embracing refined European theatrical aesthetics. Through elegant choreography, rich lighting, and stage design, it brings to life the timeless tale of Prince Siegfried, Odette, and Odile—a story of love and fate. The iconic corps de ballet of swans, moving in perfect unison with fluid lines, creates one of the most breathtaking and poetic scenes in ballet history.
