About the Performance
About “He Who Falls”
Dance, circus, theatre, installation, music and more all mixed together for a unique and breath-taking show of balance and survival. It defies the law of physics, presenting danger through harmonious movement.
Six performers represent a sort of reduced humanity, gathered on a 36 square meter, elevated, and unstable platform, striving to maintain their balance and trying not to fall. As the suspended platform begins to tilt, spin and sway, performers are struggling to stay upright, then trying to adapt to unpredictable forces, transforming every fall, slip, and recovery into choreography.
Through this simple yet striking concept, Bourgeois reveals the fragile relationship between humans, movement, and the world around them.
