About the Performance
What if you have more than one passion—must you really choose just one? 👀
Having learned aerial silk acrobatics from his mother since childhood, Xiao Yu has always been seen by everyone as the natural successor to the family tradition. Yet, he has discovered something else in his life that captivates him just as deeply.
When a long-awaited science competition clashes with the family’s annual birthday celebration for their patriarch—an event where his mother suddenly declares him the next successor—both refuse to back down. Their desperate attempts to convince the other only serve to deepen the conflict.
While Xiao Yu is away at the science competition, his mother suffers an accidental fall during an aerial performance. In a moment of desperate anxiety, Xiao Yu prays to the troupe’s ancestral founder—and to his astonishment, the founder actually manifests! Xiao Yu finds himself transported into a mysterious realm known as the "Pear Garden," a place where the successors of every generation reside. In this world, the mother and son—who previously could never truly communicate—are forced to see each other in a new light. Xiao Yu begins to understand the reasons behind his mother’s persistence, while she, for the first time, realizes that the way she has sought to protect her son may have actually been stifling him.
When you have multiple passions, is it truly necessary to pick only one? And can this mother and son—who have always struggled to express their true feelings—finally hear each other’s voices before they are separated once again?
