About the Performance

Dérive à NangangXizhi is an experimental video-choreography launched by contemporary dancer and choreographer WANG Ning. She took her living area, NangangXizhi(Taipei), as a site-specific space. Extending the idea, Théorie de la dérive, from Guy Debord, it proposes to activate our perception while walking through city pathway. The intention is to get rid of the ossification and encounter things randomly. In this dance video, the dancer paired up with a camera(man). They were improvising through the lanes around Ning’s neighborhood. Attempts to documenting all the spontaneously happens between all matter’s interaction.
