The city often feels like a rather lonely place, and the spread of loneliness in the social fabric is increased by population mobility in cities, declining community participation, and disintegration of family networks. This threatens people's viability in cities as loneliness destroys the social networks people rely on. And how do we fight loneliness? How to measure the loneliness index in a city? Based on the idea of ​​music theory and harmony, the artist imagines that everyone is like a musical note, explores objects that can live in harmony with them, and co-programs a complete musical form with them to form a meaningful relationship. This set of works is based on the intelligent image and music system, uses AI computing technology to identify the images of pedestrians walking on the scene, conducts data calculation and generates live animation and music based on the dynamic response of pedestrians, and calculates the interaction state of the crowd and the collective psychology of the city. , programming a real-time calculus system to perform live music, combining technology and performing arts, trying to transform the daily field into a stage for performances, interpreting the interaction between individuals and groups as a resistance to social structure and loneliness, forming A playing process of constant conflict and resolution, and listening to the mental state of the urban collective.

Wu Siou Ming

Wu Siou Ming is a Kaohsiung-based sound artist. His multi-disciplinary works in sound, digital video, installation and electronic music have been widely presented across Taiwan. Ming’s site specific projects explore phenomenology and human perception along with social issues facing urban spaces in his hometown: economic injustice, youth protest and unsustainable environmental practices. His installations and performances have won him numerous awards from prestigious organizations including the National Art Exhibition ROC, Taiwan Emerging Art Awards, Austronesian International Arts. He was one of the artist won “Made in Taiwan” New Artists Award. He has been invited to participate in “Ars Electronica - Garden Formosa”, “Athens Digital Arts Festival”, “Athens Biennale”, “MADATAC Videoart & New Media Audio-visual Art Festival”, “IN-SONORA Sound and Interactive Art Festival” in Spain, “Sonorities Festival of Contemporary Music” in the UK, and “Land Art Biennial” in Mongolia.
