Optional Tour: The National Taichung Theater
The architect Ito Toyo has masterfully created a building space in the new urban plan of Taichung's Seventh Redevelopment Zone that seamlessly integrates with the surrounding greenery. The National Taichung Theater (NTT) features undulating curved walls as its primary structure, forming caves of various sizes. This design allows people to feel the changes and flow of natural elements, such as light, air, and water, while immersed in the architecture, fostering the circulation of artistic vibes and making art a part of everyday life.
The guided tour not only introduces the architecture and 3 theater venues but also offers an atypical theater experience; moreover, the "T.A.P. Project," an immersive projection show presented on the curved walls, showcasing how this green theater facilitates a symbiotic relationship between arts and people.
