- 2024.02.012024 Taipei Fringe Festival Autonomous VenuesWhat are autonomous venues?Autonomous venues are venues that cooperate with TPAC. The venue operators have the right to arrange and decide on programs. Performers wishing to apply for these venues must submit a related plan and hold a meeting with the venue operator. Why do we have autonomous venues?Autonomous venues allow for more flexibility in the collaboration between venues and performers. Venue operators communicate with performers to select the most suitable programs in accordance with the usage, aesthetics, and operating philosophy of the venue, so as to create the greatest benefit to both the Festival and venues. Application process for autonomous venues February 19 (12:00) - March 1 (18:00): Application period. Please upload the proposal and fill out the application form. The venue operator will arrange a meeting with the interested applicant. Prior to 18:00, March 11: Announcement of application results. March 12-April 3: Selected applicants must conduct online registration, and submit a registration fee of NT$500 and a security deposit of NT$3,600. Only then will they have completed the entire process and obtained the right to perform at their chosen venue.Other important information If applicants are not selected by autonomous venue(s), they are still able to survey and book other Fringe venues from March 12 to April 3. Under Festival regulations, performers and venue operators may communicate with each other directly concerning technical and performance arrangements. The Festival and venues will hold a tech coordination meeting with performers prior to the performance. Performers must abide by the Taipei Fringe Festival Rules and Regulations. Performers must provide front-of-house and technical personnel for their performances. Since TPAC is the Festival organizer, it must be informed if venues and performers have any other collaborative plans during the Festival. Performers may only apply for one autonomous venue.
