Đoàn Thanh Toàn is a Saigon-based queer choreographer and dancer. From solo to collaborative works with sound, performance, and visual artists, Toàn's practice is marked by an engagement with queer relations and a critique of Vietnam’s socio-political landscapes. Having trained in Indian contemporary dance and African-based movements, since 2019 Toàn has explored diverse modes of performance-making. In Vietnam, their works have been presented at MORUA, MoT+++, San Art, A. Farm, Time Between, and the Goethe Institut. Internationally, their works has been presented as part of Pro Helvetia residency (Kaserne Basel, Switzerland), Before the Cataclysm, After the Storm exhibition (TPW Gallery, Canada), Thinking Like Dance residency (Japan), Invisible Dance: The Bodies in Friction (India), and UrFear (digitally, Indonesia).

When not performing, Toàn supports the local performance scene as a dramaturg and project coordinator. Toàn also works in the field of development and gender advocacy. Toan graduated from Macalester College with a BA in International Studies and Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies.
