Department of Theater Arts, National Sun Yat-sen University
The Department of Theater Arts at National Sun Yat-Sen University was founded in 2001. Located in Shiziwan, nearby Chaishan, We are situated in the midst of great nature with scenic mountain and ocean views.
Being part of a research-oriented comprehensive university, we dedicate our efforts to developing “interdisciplinary learning”, “agendas of cultural diversity” and “the bridge between artistic and social practices.” Starting with the core trainings of dramatic literature and history as well as the basic aspects of theatrical practices, the students in our department will eventually choose a focused area of study among the three major fields—“Theory and Dramaturgy,” “Acting and Directing,” and “Design in Theatrical Arts.” They will demonstrate their integrated learnings across creative expressions, skill sets, production and management with their final projects of senior performances.
