It is presented as an improvised performance rehearsing Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing + Butterfly Lovers at the same time. After calming down and warming up, icebreaker games (audiences can play together), rehearsing the play, Much Ado About Nothing on the left, Butterfly Lovers on the right, the director and assistant director, cross-coaching. It ended with a dance by the director and the group members. Audiences can join in the experience and exchange. The open classroom uses improvisational methods to engage in drama improvisation, which is the best way to present drama to the elderly. Also by tearing down the framework of the classroom, we may be able to welcome more responses and recognition from the same frequency.
This is the most natural line in the play, and there is no need to modify or write it. The most natural acting skills, no pressure to memorize lines, happy improvisational performance.
You are welcome to bring older audiences to the venue to watch and be inspired by the show.

I am a musical director. With the belief that "through artistic creations, we can improve the artistic atmosphere of the elderly and gain the confidence to be recognized again," I go to a care base to teach drama classes for the elderly.
In fact, it’s quite difficult. Their average age is 76, one-third of them have ongoing dementia, one of them uses a wheelchair, and none of them have ever acted. Because there are not many precedents to refer to, it is said that drama therapy and drama game courses are not effective for the elderly. I have no choice but to train them in the usual way of training actors, including drama, singing, physical classes, psychological painting + drama, drama creation and other various courses, so that the elderly can have fun. I didn't expect it to be very effective. It was originally expected to be a 12-week course, but we couldn't stop and continued until now, and established the Gray and Silver Theater Company.
Every time we have group training, everyone laughs till they can’t stop, it’s all joy. Feedback from group members: I didn’t make as many laughs in a year as I did in this course. During the course, the meditation and warm-up went well, and the ice-breaking games became unexpectedly interesting. Everyone in the drama class is very serious, but the seniors who rarely express their emotions are always happy and interesting when they try to express them (I myself have been laughed to tears several times). After countless years of group training, we are finally mature enough to go on stage.
In March 2018, the British Council held a forum at the Tokyo Metropolitan Theater to explore the potential of culture and art in an aging society, inviting culture and art professionals and researchers to discuss: How culture and the arts can address the various challenges we face every day What role does it play in the aging problem?
It says: Art exists as a way of life.
Not only the United Kingdom and Japan, we have seen that silver-haired theater troupes have also begun to be established in various countries around the world, learning acting skills every day, and collectively creating expressions of their lives. Art is something that touches your heart and gives you emotions. It is a necessary thing in life and it also makes the elders feel «I am alive».
I think we can do it in Taiwan, so I want to try. I want to tell everyone that Taiwan can also have a silver-haired theater troupe. You see, we have succeeded.
