"Mashup"
Explore Inner Truth and Feel the Impact of Cultural Fusion Art
In the hustle and bustle of life, we often wear many masks, hiding our true selves to deal with different people and situations. How long has it been since you carefully observed the changes around you and listened to your inner voice?
"Mashup" is like a microcosm of reality, encouraging us to slow down and feel, to explore, gaze, and focus, to re-examine the connection between ourselves and our lives. The world you perceive is a reflection of your inner self.
Following the critically acclaimed "Dance in Silence", Duck Art Studio x Dear Moon Theatre of Deaf presents six new short works along with one international piece. This series takes the audience on a journey to discover their true selves and explore free will. You will find that the essence of art lies in its purity and simplicity, striking a chord, breaking down identity barriers, and bringing profound emotion and reflection.
Dear Moon Theatre of Deaf's Six Captivating Works
Each piece, with its unique style and perspective, showcases human emotions, free will, and life philosophies from different angles.
Dear Moon Theatre of Deaf has invested three years of professional theater resources, meticulously training deaf performers to polish diverse creations into dazzling and moving works.
This time, they present six short pieces:
"Courage and Fear" : Confronting inner fears, breaking frameworks to gain courage
"Freedom from the Heart" : Depicting the journey of teenagers breaking free from the constraints of their families to become themselves
"Overthinking" : Exploring the stereotypes of first impressions and the genuine exchange of feelings in interpersonal relationships
"Ode to Joy" : Happiness is simple, illustrated through a fantastical journey of three little animals in a dream
"True Equality" : Affirming one's uniqueness, breaking down mental barriers, and facing life's challenges with an open heart
"Between Black and White" : Removing the protective masks we wear to rediscover our most authentic and free selves
International Piece: "Sand and Foam"
The sands of time constantly flow, a brief dance of human relationships.
For the first time, Austrian renowned artist Chris Wang collaborates with Heng Wang and Lin Ching Lan to present the spectacular piece "Sand and Foam".
Inspired by Khalil Gibran's timeless aphorisms, this short work delves into the ephemeral essence of our connections, much like sand and foam on the shore—ever-changing, transient, yet profoundly impactful. As we wander through the sands of life, each grain represents a moment, an interaction, a relationship.
These grains of sand, though minute and seemingly insignificant on their own, collectively form the vast expanse of our human experience. Much like the myriad relationships we forge, they shape and define the contours of our existence.
In this piece, the three artists, through a perfect blend of dance and visual art, extend the perceptions of both the hearing and the deaf, expressing the landscapes seen in the pursuit of exploration.
