Optional Tour: National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying)
Welcome to Weiwuying, located in the vibrant harbor city of Kaohsiung in southern Taiwan. We invite you to explore the world's largest single-roof multi-venue performing arts center, an architectural marvel inspired by banyan trees and designed to feature state-of-the-art theater spaces.
Join us for an exclusive opportunity to interact with dance artists from southern Taiwan, offering a glimpse into the latest works of choreographers such as the emerging contemporary dance company Autumn Cedar Sóo-Tsāi, the contemporary Paiwan (an indigenous group) dance group Tjimur Dance Theatre, and the interdisciplinary collaboration Antinomy Company, which brings together talents from literature, music, theater, dance, and visual arts.
We also warmly invite you to experience Puccini's Manon Lescaut, a flagship opera production at Weiwuying Opera House. This magnificent opera is a collaborative effort between the National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying), the Slovene National Theatre Maribor, and Teatro Colón Buenos Aires. Conducted by Weiwuying's Artistic and General Director CHIEN Wen-pin, it features outstanding performances by both local and international artists.
