Lectures and International Forums

Beyond the performances, this year's festival also features several lectures and forums: three keynote lectures introduce the historical context and contemporary landscape of script development in Korea and Taiwan. Through dialogues between Taiwanese and Korean scholars, these sessions re-read the works and era-defining significance of Lin Tuan-chiu, a foundational figure in Taiwan’s theatrical history. Three International forums include creative dialogues between Taiwanese and Korean playwrights, experience sharing among script translators from both regions, and discussions on how play reading can serve as a platform for creative exchange and cultural dialogue.

Through the multi-layered dialogues formed by lectures, forums, and post-performance exchanges, play reading transcends stage presentation to become a public space for discussion between creators and audiences. It fosters deeper understanding and connection within the Taiwanese and Korean theatre communities, continuing to expand the possibilities for Asian script exchange and cross-cultural creation.

*Lectures and forums will be held in Mandarin/Korean, with consecutive interpretation.
